My first camera was a second-hand Contax in the early 1970s. This quickly gave up the ghost and was replaced by a Praktica L with which I took images of my cactus collection and of ships in the Humber and along the coast of the East Riding of Yorkshire. I then moved on to Canon SLRs and took travel images on Fuji Velvia and Provia slide film. My first digital camera was a Minolta Dimage 5. In 2004 I bought a Canon 300D dual lens kit which served me well for several years. Wanting to take images of my niece show jumping (often in low light) led me to the Canon 5D mark 2. Restrictions on hand luggage, and a growing collection of lenses, made me look for something a bit lighter. My first micro-four thirds camera was a Lumix G3. I now mainly use an Olympus OM-1 with a Lumix GH5 as back-up. An Olympus OMD M5 converted for infra-red and a Lumix G5 full spectrum camera completes my MFT system, with a variety of lenses. I shoot a range of subjects from macro (mainly plants), travel, wildlife and street/architecture to astrophotography.
